The 795-page book was printed in Linz, Austria in 1733 and develops a theological controversy on the interpretation of the gospels and religious life between the Austrian Catholic and German Protestant Catholic clergy and was written by Johann Ferdinand Gessl (1682-1764) an Austrian Cristian Catholic priest with supervision and dedication to Josepho Dominico or Joseph Dominikus Graf von Lamberg (1680-1761) prince-bishop in the diocese of Passau and cardinal from the noble Lamberg family, in Styria, Upper Austria. The cardinal Dominikus Graf von Lamberg was primarily concerned with the expansion of the German school system and undertook around a hundred visitation trips, reformed the ecclesiastical disciplined fomenting good customs among the clergy.
